the issue is not "sun evaporate more water", it's that data centers take river and lake water (drinkable) and waste it. it'd be fine if they used ocean water.

@DRZOIDBERG Did you know sun evaporates 577.000 cubic kilometers of water every summer and this water sometimes fall into ocean full of salt too? Every year between approximately 0.76 and 6,6 cubic kilometers of water evaporate in data centers annually. Even if there will be 1000 data-centers with full water consumption, it will be only 1.14% of evaporated water compared to what sun does every summer. The biggest issue here is not water, its energy consumption

we worry bc the fresh water they evaporate evntually ends up in ocean water, making it no longer potable.

Releasing steam really means that water will return to Earth; If data centers were all in one place, that is when we worry. Until we meet again!
